Turn a Letter-size tiled pattern PDF into one sheet
US home printers use Letter paper, so patterns made for it arrive as many tiled Letter pages. Here is how to turn them into one sheet before you print.
A pattern tiled for Letter paper is split the same way an A4 one is: each page shows only part of the piece, with margins to trim and marks to line up against the next page. Printed separately, the pages do not show the finished shape; they need to be joined edge to edge at the scale the designer drew.
The path from tiles to one sheet is the same regardless of paper size: follow the designer's assembly map, trim the same amount from every edge, and match the registration marks page to page.
How to get to one sheet
- Tape the Letter pages by hand. Print at actual size, trim the designer's margin, and match the lines page to page. Free, and reliable if you take your time.
- Check for a designer-supplied copy-shop file. Some patterns already include the pages joined into one large-format layout; use that instead if it exists.
- Join the PDF yourself with a free tool such as PDFStitcher or Pattern Projector.

Does Bloom work with Letter-size PDFs?

What if my Letter pages are a scanned copy?
Scans and image-only pages aren't supported. You need an unlocked vector PDF, ideally from the designer.
Should I print before or after stitching?
After. Stitch first so you print one sheet at original scale instead of piecing together separate Letter pages by hand.
